Lohan was stopped by police after they received a call from passengers in a SUV who said they were being chased by another SUV, according to press reports. Police stopped the white Denali and immediately recognized Lohan, the driver. After she failed a field sobriety test, she was taken into custody. When she was searched, police found cocaine in her pants pocket.
She has been released on $25,000 bond.
This week, in our weekly news roundup, we reported that Lohan had completed 45-days in a residential treatment facility and left wearing an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet in an effort to remain sober. She turned herself in last week to the Beverly Hills Police Department to be fingerprinted and photographed on DUI charges from a May 26 traffic incident.
There was no report if she was still wearing the ankle bracelet when she was arrested early today.
Second Rehab, Second Arrest
The 45-day stint in rehab was her second trip to a treatment center before she turned 21 years old. She was also in a residential treatment program in January 2007. She turned 21 on July 2, 2007.
In the earlier DUI case, Lohan was driving her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 convertible on Sunset Boulevard when she lost control, jumped a curb and crashed into some bushes. When someone called 9-1-1, Lohan was taken to the hospital and later arrested for DUI.
Lohan's acting career began at age ten in a television soap opera. Her movie roles include "The Parent Trap," "Mean Girls," "Herbie: Fully Loaded" and "A Prairie Home Companion."
