Less than a week after actress Lindsay Lohan completed a 45-day stay in a residential treatment facility and turned herself in to face drunk driving charges in Beverly Hills, she has been arrested in Santa Monica on charges of DUI and possession of cocaine. Lohan's blood alcohol content was measured between .12 and .13 at the police department.

Lohan was stopped by police after they received a call from passengers in a SUV who said they were being chased by another SUV, according to press reports. Police stopped the white Denali and immediately recognized Lohan, the driver. After she failed a field sobriety test, she was taken into custody. When she was searched, police found cocaine in her pants pocket.

She has been released on $25,000 bond.

This week, in our weekly news roundup, we reported that Lohan had completed 45-days in a residential treatment facility and left wearing an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet in an effort to remain sober. She turned herself in last week to the Beverly Hills Police Department to be fingerprinted and photographed on DUI charges from a May 26 traffic incident.

There was no report if she was still wearing the ankle bracelet when she was arrested early today.

Second Rehab, Second Arrest

The 45-day stint in rehab was her second trip to a treatment center before she turned 21 years old. She was also in a residential treatment program in January 2007. She turned 21 on July 2, 2007.

In the earlier DUI case, Lohan was driving her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 convertible on Sunset Boulevard when she lost control, jumped a curb and crashed into some bushes. When someone called 9-1-1, Lohan was taken to the hospital and later arrested for DUI.

Lohan's acting career began at age ten in a television soap opera. Her movie roles include "The Parent Trap," "Mean Girls," "Herbie: Fully Loaded" and "A Prairie Home Companion."

Apparently she is in denial that she has problems with alcohol and drugs. Once she is sick and tired of being sick and tired, only then will she make a change in her life. Choosing and alternative to drugs and alcohol can be done if she wants it. No treatment facility or person can help her unless she is working an honest program. You can provide her with all the lifesaving tools and ultimately it is her choice to utilize those tools. Conversely, she is choosing to use alcohol and drugs in what appears she is self-medicating instead of dealing with the her issues. Let’s put it out there and recognize that unless she admits she are out of control, she will continously be enslaved to alcohol and drugs. If you can’t change people, then change people.
