Dear Sir/Madam: My father was a chronic alcoholic and after 20 years of hell for himself,my mom,and his four kids he stopped drinking by shooting himself. That tells me that doctors are not the answer. My brother is an alcoholic but told me to go to hellwhen I offered to help. Denial can be fatal.I was a weekend councilor at an alcohol rehab. for over 10 years and AA is better. AA is free, membership is just a desire to stop drinking. We are spiritual not religous.Leave your rosary at the door. In AA I have 29 years of sobriety. This was done One Day at a Time with the help of a Higher Power of MY CHOICE. Some of the commercial rehabs claim 75 % recovery. This is very high. Can you please send me documentation on this. I tell newcomers that alcoholism can be fatal so br gratfull for every day of sobriety.
