'Meth Mouth' No Myth for Dentists

"Meth Mouth" is a term used to describe the mouth of a methamphetamine user because of the rampant tooth decay that is seen in users. Although one observe believes that the phenomenon of meth mouth is a myth, the problems that dentists are seeing in methamphetamine users are rampant. Dentistry Guide Tammy Davenport explains why this happens and the limited options available to dentist to treat the problem.
Myth or not, tooth decay is not the only health problem caused by even relatively short-term use of methamphetamine, which is dramatically illustrated in The Face of Meth photographs collected by the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office of Portland, Oregon.
