Youth Inhalant Abuse Continues to Rise

An estimated 1.8 million children started using inhalants -- mostly everyday household products -- in the past three years and 30 percent of them were only 12 or 13 years old, according a report released during National Inhalants and Poisons Awareness Week.
According to a report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, an average of 598,000 youth from age 12 to 17 initiated inhalant use in the past 12 months, using data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health. Read more.
