Monday July 31, 2006
A nationally syndicated radio program, "Steppin' Out - the 12 Step Radio Show," gives listeners a chance to hear what a 12 step meetings sounds like as real recovering people share their stories anonymously. The radio show is designed for people currently in recovery, friends and family members of those in recovery, people considering getting help for their problem and those who have always wondered what happens in a 12 step meeting.

Steppin' Out is available on local radio stations around the United States at various times during the week and is available on Sundays on both XM Radio Channel 124 and Sirius Stream 143. A complete schedule is available on the Steppin' Out Web site.

AA meeting are not meant for war stories or peoples drinking days, it is for Alcholics share their experience, strength, and hope!!! People really need to become aware of the fact that you cannot ’scare’ a newcomer into recovery. It is completly baffling that a group of people can’t spend a simple hour talking about how they’ve gotton their life back and give these poor newcomers hope that they can do they same by working the Twelve Steps as outlined in the Big Book of Alcohalics Anonymous (not by working the brief summaries of the steps that they can most likely find hanging on a wall in their meeting place). This is of course if you are actually interested in helping the newcomers. So please, buy a Big Book.
