Mindy McCready Violates Her Probation
Country music singer Mindy McCready has been charged with violating her probation for a 2004 drug charge by falsifying her community service records. No court date was announced for when the 32-year-old singer will face the judge who sentenced her.

Boy George Denied Visa for U.S. Concert Tour
Culture Club lead singer Boy George, whose real name is George O'Dowd, has been denied a visa to enter the United States because he is facing trial in London. The 47-year-old singer had planned a concert tour this summer, including a free concert for the New York City Department of Sanitation's Family Day. He did his community service at the department on a cocaine charge in 2006.

NBA Star Plea Deals Drunk Driving Charge
Denver Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony pleaded to a reduced charge of driving while impaired the day after he was named to the U.S. Olympics basketball team for Beijing. Anthony pleaded guilty to driving while impaired and failing to drive in a single lane, avoiding the more serious charge of driving under the influence.

Man Dies After Doing 25 Shots in 30 Minutes
A Florida man died after taking 25 shots of vodka while playing a drinking game with another bar patron. Witnesses said Eric Morris, 26, drank 23 to 25 shots within 30 minutes of a drink called a "cherry bomb," made from a combination of cherry-flavored vodka and the energy drink Red Bull. Morris was 6-4, 210 pounds.

Drunk Driver Gets 43 Years in Death of 5
A Michigan man has been sentenced to 43 years in prison in connection with a drunken driving incident in which he drove the wrong way on an Interstate highway and crashed head-on into a minivan, killing a mother and her four children. Michael Gagnon had a blood alcohol content twice the legal limit and had marijuana in his system at the time. The 24-year-old Gagnon will not be eligible for release until he is in his 60s.

Killer Mom Goes to Bar Instead of Jail
An Ohio woman who was being held in a Pennsylvania jail for the drunk driving crash that killed her own six-year-old son has now been charged with escape because she went to a bar instead of returning to jail after his funeral. Erin Howard, 26, had been given leave to go to the funeral of her son in Ohio, but was supposed to return to jail afterwards. Instead, she went to a bar about a mile from the church where the funeral was held.

Amy Winehouse Has Emphysema, Dad Says
The father of singer Amy Winehouse told reporters that his daughter has early stage emphysema and an irregular heartbeat from smoking crack cocaine. Following a fainting spell at her north London home last week, Winehouse was hospitalized and given a battery of scans and tests. Mitch Winehouse told The Sunday Mirror that his daughter will have to wear an oxygen mask if she returns to smoking crack.

Rapper Young Jeezy Charged With DUI
Rapper Young Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Jenkins, was charged with driving under the influence and speeding after he was stopped in Atlanta on Interstate 85. He was charged with speeding, driving with no proof of insurance or license plate, having an open container, reckless driving, and driving impaired by alcohol or drugs. A court date was set for July 17.

Marcus Vick Charged With DUI
Former Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick whose career was cut short by legal problems has been arrested in Norfolk, Virginia, for driving under the influence. Marcus Vick is the younger brother of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, who is serving a federal prison sentence for illegal dog fighting.

Star Football Recruit Arrested on Drug Charges
A rising high school senior who is considered one of the top linemen in the nation has been arrested on charges of possessing a narcotic with intent to sell. Police said Jared McAdoo was arrested by campus police at a University of North Carolina party trying to sell prescription pain killers. The party was supposed to be alcohol and drug free.

Prosecutor Charged After Two Auto Crashes
A prosecuting attorney from rural Nevada was charged with driving under the influence after police said he crashed two vehicles within six hours on the same California highway. Nye County District Attorney Robert Beckett was not seriously injured in the crashes, but both vehicles were badly damaged, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Texas Prosecutor Drives Car Into House
A Dallas, Texas prosecutor was charged with drunken driving after he slammed his vehicle into the side of a house. Witnesses said Thomas Gatlin, 43, was passed out with his foot on the accelerator and the tires still spinning after slamming into the house. They had to use a hammer to break the windshield to turn the car off.
