Growing

I remember a music teacher a long time ago told me that everyday I would either be a better musician than the day before or a WORSE one!

If I practiced every day, I would naturally become better. But if I didn't practice, I would not stay where I was, I would go backwards. I would lose something, forget something I knew the day before.

I find that the Al-Anon program works the same way for me. If I work it everyday, I make progress. But if I fail to work it, I don't stay where I am I slide backwards.

It's difficult enough for me to make progress, especially sometimes when I get blindsided by unexpected setbacks or shoot myself in the foot (again).

So like the opening says, I must depend upon "...the loving interchange of help among members and DAILY reading of Al-Anon literature..." or I find myself very easily moving back into my old stinking thinking. Without those daily reminders to keep the focus on myself and to mind my own business!
