Legal Advocacy Network for Substance Addiction Recovery

The following is published as a public service and was submitted by the Legal Advocacy Network for Substance Addiction Recovery.

The Legal Advocacy Network for Substance Addiction Recovery (LANSAR) was established in 1995 as a legal defense program for addicted workers unable to afford qualified legal representation. Our purpose is to foster recovery by such representation.

We recently began publishing a monthly newsletter, the Addiction Recovery Rights Bulletin. Subject matter is confined principally to news of discrimination against alcoholic and drug addicted workers throughout the nation, and there's plenty of it. For example, under the Americans with Disabilities Act, employers no longer are required to offer a "firm choice" between treatment and discipline for performance or conduct deficiencies caused by chemical addiction. Workers are being summarily fired!

To help finance our program, we are offering ARRB at an annual subscription rate of $177.00. We're also offering, for a limited time, a free premium: "Representing Employees with Alcohol, Drug and Emotional Problems, a Steward's Handbook."

Subscribers can order through e-mail, by telephone at 301-649-2661, by fax at 301-649-2022, or by written order sent to LANSAR, 11105 Conti Place, Silver Spring, MD 20902.
