Question: How Many People Binge Drink in the U.S.?
Answer: Almost one quarter of all people over the age of 12 reported that they participated in binge drinking at least once in the past 30 days. In the latest national survey 23.7% reported having five or more drinks per drinking session during the past month. That means approximately 59.6 million people in the United States are binge drinkers.

This information is from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), an annual interview of approximately 67,500 people, asking about their alcohol and drug use in the past year.
