Definition: Delirium tremens, commonly known as the DTs, is the most severe form of alcohol withdrawal symptoms. Delirium tremens includes profound confusion, hallucinations, and severe autonomic nervous system overactivity. Typically, these severe symptoms begin between 48 and 96 hours after the last drink of alcohol.
