How long were you in rehab?
I was in detox for ten days for an addiction to morphine.
What was the most helpful feature of rehab?
The counseling I received from Travis and Diane. They were the ones who I personally believed saved my life and gave me the tools to stay clean and sober. My family is so grateful to have their mother and their wife back. I went through some very traumatic times while I was there and through perseverance and a lot of prayer I made it all the way through to the end. My husband suffered three strokes while I was away and Travis convinced me I would be able to help him a lot more if I got my life under control first. He was right. I am now a better mother and a better wife than I ever was and I have them to thank for it. The daily meetings and the constant positive one-on-one counseling I had with these counselors there saved my life and since then I have returned to school so that maybe one day I can help as many people as they have. Being brought down to D&A was the single most educating and rewarding experience of my life. I promised Travis that I would not be one of the clients he wouldn't see buried when I died from my addiction and I fully intend to make good on that promise. If you have a problem with addiction make it your first priority to seek out a facility. they genuinely care about the people that come through there and I promise you will be treated with respect and dignity. And not just another drug addict off the street.
Advice
- I would recommend that anyone who has a problem with any type of addiction whether it be prescription drugs, street drugs or alcohol that this is the best place for them to get the help they need. The staff is very understanding because they are all recovering addicts themselves. They have enough knowledge to help people who believe that they are beyond help. It is because of these people that I celebrated my 1 year anniversary of being clean and sober on the 24th of September and still going strong. I just want to thank Travis and Diane personally for all the help and advice that they gave me.
