Buckshot's Legacy
This was a dream about suicide. Being an alcoholic, it is only natural that, while drinking, and even some time after sobriety, I entertained notions about suicide. But not recently, no, suicide has not been on my agenda for years.

Had Buckshot not reached out to AA, He could have been one of those that died in an alley somewhere alone.

As different people spoke and friends related stories about this person, one thing stood out was Buckshot's insistence of laughter and joke telling. He always had a new joke and spread happiness where ever he was.
His one saying about AA was that if you're "not having fun in AA, you're not doing it right!" Buckshot, as one person said, always shot straight arrows, That he did, he would tell you just "How it was " and with no BS.
Joyous, Happy, Free
The one thing that came to my mind was, here were a couple of hundred people saying goodbye to another Alcoholic, and I thought, "How many thousands of alcoholics have and are dying all alone and with no one to care about them at all... If they could have only reached out to the program of Alcoholics Anonymous, they too could be going on to another place, Joyous, Happy and Free."Had Buckshot not reached out to AA, He could have been one of those that died in an alley somewhere alone, But because of his love and work in AA he didn't have to leave this world without the love of his fellow man.
Buckshot was just a man, no hero, just an Alcoholic with a love for the program and for his fellow man. He will be missed by many, but I can just see him now, telling Bill and Bob and a host of others some funny stories up there in that meeting place that we will all go to someday.
This my friends was one more miracle that I was able to witness by being a sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
