SR-22 Insurance

Definition: Insurance certification to the driver's licensing agency which says that a driver has liability coverage and that the agency will be notified if the policy is canceled or lapses. Most states require SR-22 insurance for drivers convicted of drunk driving before they can get driving privileges restored.
Also Known As: DUI Insurance
Examples: His insurance company does not offer SR-22 insurance, so he had to change to another agency.
