How long were you in rehab?
I went to treatment for 24 days as a residential program. Leaving my family to take care of myself was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but it was also the best thing I have ever done for myself and my family.
What was the most helpful feature of rehab?
The structure of everyday classes. They have about 8 or so classes that u attend daily and those classes taught me how to take care of myself and to fight my addiction. They gave me the tools needed to become a productive person in society and also made me a better mom by helping me stay drug free. I learned that my "disease," as they call it, is treatable if I work hard. They saved my life. There is no greater feeling then waking up every morning and not want to take drugs. I love my new life. The tools they gave me work. They showed me how to live drug free and that I could never put a mind-altering substance in my body ever again. They teach you how to be dependent on yourself and how to respect yourself. Something I was lacking greatly: Self Respect. They gave ways of dealing with cravings and withdrawals. I cant thank them enough.
